Hand Dyed Weaving Warp 4 1/2 yards

from $68.00
Size:

You will receive 195 to 200 ends of a hand-painted warp. This warp is 4 ½ yards long.

I do my best you capture the true colors. Due to variations in monitors the colors you see may differ.

The warp is made using 5/2 Tencel - 2,100 yards per pound.  The standard recommended sett is 16 epi for plain weave. 20 epi for twill.   I often use 18 epi for the patterns I weave. The width in the loom will be approximately 10” to 12.5” wide depending on your sett.

Note – The warp was wound using several threads at one time.  As a result, there may be two threads instead of one that pass over the cross at one time.

Each warp has a tag located at the cross end. In addition to the cross the warp is tied several places.  Some are loose ties used for dying and additional ones that are tighter.   I suggest you save at least one warp thread to use if needed for any breakage. (I don’t thread one piece and allow it to hang over the back of the loom.) Some warps may come with a dyed extra thread.

I use fiber reactive dyes and rinse numerous times until the water runs clear. There still may be some excess dye with some colors. When you are finished weaving, I recommend using a color catcher.
